Toolbox: Measure & Calculate
Last updated: 26 October 2026
About Toolbox
Smart Tool Factory publishes Toolbox: Measure & Calculate for Android, package com.stfactory.toolbox. This policy explains how Toolbox uses information when you use its instruments, calculators, media tools, saved work, reminders, paid plans and optional rewarded ads. It applies to Toolbox, rather than to other Smart Tool Factory apps or the website forum.
Toolbox does not require a separate Toolbox account. Google Play, your device’s services and other apps you choose may use their own accounts.
Measurements and saved work
Toolbox reads supported sensors to show measurements. When you save work, the app can store measurements, dates, titles, notes, calibration values, tasks, timers, photos, recordings, reports and associated place details on your device. Your settings, favorites and recently opened tools are also stored locally.
Some features use external services. Maps, place lookups, speech recognition, Google Play purchases, advertising, technical SDK metrics and backup can involve information being processed outside your device, as explained below.
Camera, photos and files
Camera access supports camera-guided measuring, image and color tools, and photos you choose to capture. You can select existing photos, documents or folders for supported tools. These tools can read and save media, annotations, measurements, attachments and file metadata. Original location metadata in selected media may be read when you authorize access.
Image analysis and text recognition operate on the device. Google’s ML Kit privacy information explains that its image inputs and recognized results are processed on-device, while separate technical metrics are sent to Google. These metrics include device and app information, installation identifiers, performance, errors, feature use and input/output sizes. They are used for diagnostics, usage analytics and maintaining the APIs.
Content selected from a cloud photo or document provider remains subject to that provider’s practices.
Microphone, sound and speech
Microphone access supports sound-level measurements, audio analysis, voice commands and voice notes. Saving an audio recording or night log requires a recording action. The app can store those recordings, night clips, task voice notes and related notes on your device.
Sleep mode can show night-noise information, snoring duration, cough counts and recognized-sound summaries. Automated sound classification runs on the device. Toolbox is not a medical device. Its tools cannot diagnose an illness or be used to treat, cure or prevent one. Sleep and sound results may be wrong. Get advice about symptoms, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
Voice commands use the speech-recognition service configured on your Android device. That service may send audio to remote servers and return recognized words to Toolbox. Its processing, storage and network use depend on the service provider and settings. See Android’s speech-recognition information and the privacy information for your configured recognition service.
Location, maps and place lookups
With your permission, relevant tools can use approximate or precise location while you use them. Examples include map position, saved places, alignment, optional place stamps, routes and noise walks you choose to record. You can also select a place manually or search for a location.
Maps use Google Maps. Map views and place/address lookups involve Google or your device’s geocoding provider. A requested lookup can send search text or coordinates to those services. Google Maps also receives device/request metadata, IP addresses, a Maps-specific identifier, diagnostics and certain map interaction events to operate and improve its services. See the Maps SDK data disclosure.
Place details you add to a saved record or export can remain in that record or file.
Optional rewarded ads
Toolbox offers optional rewarded ads for temporary access to more features. Opening the plan or reward page can prepare or preload an ad before you choose to watch it. Toolbox does not use automatic banner, native or interstitial ad placements.
Preparing advertising can initialize Google Mobile Ads and request an update to Google’s consent information. A consent form is shown when Google’s consent platform requires it. Ad requests depend on the consent state returned by that platform. SDK initialization can occur before the form appears.
Google’s ads SDK collects and shares IP-derived approximate location, app/ad interactions, diagnostic information and device or account identifiers, including advertising and app-set IDs when available. These support advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Google documents encrypted transport for this data. You can use Android’s advertising settings to control or reset the advertising ID where supported. See the Google Mobile Ads data disclosure and Google Privacy Policy.
Purchases and trial preservation
Google Play processes optional Plus and Pro purchases. Toolbox receives subscription information needed to enable features, including purchase status, tokens, plan level and renewal state. It queries and restores purchases, acknowledges completed purchases with Play and keeps entitlement information on your device. Toolbox does not collect payment-card numbers; Google Play handles payment under its own terms.
To preserve the trial and used tool allowances, Toolbox saves the trial-start timestamp and tool-use counters through Google Block Store with cloud backup enabled. These records can survive reinstalling Toolbox or supported device transfers, depending on Google backup and device settings. They are separate from your saved measurement records. Block Store’s encryption and backup availability depend on the platform and device security settings.
Device permissions and controls
- Camera and microphone: for the camera, measurement, recording and speech functions described above.
- Location and media location: for location tools, optional place details and authorized location metadata in media.
- Photos, files and selected folders: for opening, saving, editing and exporting content. Older Android versions also use legacy storage permissions.
- Notifications, vibration and alarms: for reminders, timer alerts and measurement cues. Supported scheduling can recover after a device restart.
- Sensors: for measurements and supported higher-rate sampling.
- Wallpaper: for Gallery’s optional action that opens Android’s crop/set-wallpaper screen.
- Network, advertising and billing access: for the external services described in this policy.
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android settings and manage grants for selected files and folders. The affected functions may then be unavailable. Not every function needs every permission.
Other apps, sharing and support
Toolbox may suggest another Smart Tool Factory app. Local preferences record when a suggestion is shown, opened or dismissed. Checks for named promoted apps help decide whether a suggestion is relevant. If you open a suggestion’s store link, Google Play or your browser receives the destination and a campaign/source tag indicating that the link came from Toolbox.
You choose when to export or share a measurement, report, image, recording, attachment or other supported output. Shared content can contain notes, dates, location metadata and other details included in that output. Your selected app, storage provider or recipient can keep its own copy under its practices.
Help can open your email app to contact smarttoolfactory@icloud.com. If you send a message, we and the email providers receive the information you include and sender details supplied by your email service. We use that correspondence to handle your enquiry.
Storage, backup and deletion
You can remove supported saved items within their tools and manage app storage through Android settings. Exported files, attachments and copies held by other apps or recipients are separate; removing an original item does not remove those copies.
Android backup and device-transfer settings can include eligible local app data. Trial/usage records in Block Store have their own persistence. Removing the app or clearing its local storage does not necessarily remove platform backups, restored trial records, exported files or information held by external services.
Google, your speech-recognition provider, selected file services and email providers apply their own storage, security and deletion practices to information they process. Google documents encrypted transport for AdMob and ML Kit SDK data. Use your device and service-provider controls to manage backups, advertising preferences, service information and subscriptions.
Audience and contact
Toolbox is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
