Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026 Applies to all Smart Tool Factory apps

01Overview

Smart Tool Factory ("we", "our", or "us") develops and publishes Android applications for measurement purposes, including Angle Meter, Angle Meter Pro, Clinometer, Clinometer PRO, Smart Tools Laser Level, and Smart Tools Laser Level Pro.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use any of our applications (collectively, the "Apps"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

Our commitment: We do not sell your personal data. Our Apps are designed to work primarily on-device, and most measurement data never leaves your phone.

02Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our Apps:

Information collected automatically

  • Device information — device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for crash reporting and analytics purposes.
  • Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated data about how you interact with the App, including features used and session duration.
  • Crash reports — technical data about errors and crashes to help us identify and fix bugs.
  • Advertising identifiers — in free versions of our Apps, we collect advertising IDs to serve personalized ads via our ad partners.

Information you provide

  • Saved measurements — if you save measurement records within the App, this data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
  • Contact information — if you contact us for support, we may collect your email address and any information you voluntarily provide.

Information we do NOT collect

No location tracking
No contacts or address book access
No microphone recordings
No personal photos or files
No financial data or payment info
No data sold to third parties

03How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • App functionality — to provide core measurement features and maintain app performance.
  • Improvement — to analyze usage patterns and improve the user experience, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Advertising — in free versions, to display relevant ads through our advertising partners.
  • Support — to respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

04Third-Party Services

Our Apps may use the following third-party services that collect data on our behalf:

Google Analytics for Firebase

Used for anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting.

Firebase Privacy Policy

Google AdMob

Used in free versions to serve advertisements.

Google Privacy Policy

Google Play Services

Used for in-app purchases and licensing verification in Pro versions.

Google Privacy Policy

Each of these third-party services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle information. We encourage you to review their policies.

05Advertising

Our free Apps display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads may use your advertising identifier and device information to show personalized advertisements.

You can control ad personalization through your device settings:

  1. Open your device Settings
  2. Go to Google > Ads
  3. Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
Pro versions are ad-free. Our paid Pro editions (Angle Meter Pro, Clinometer PRO, Smart Tools Laser Level Pro) do not contain any advertising and do not collect advertising identifiers.

06Data Storage & Security

All measurement data (angles, slopes, calibration settings, saved records) is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers.

For analytics and crash reporting data that is transmitted, we rely on industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase, including encryption in transit (TLS) and secure data centers.

We retain analytics data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, typically no longer than 14 months.

07Camera & Sensor Access

Some of our Apps request access to device hardware for core functionality:

Camera

Used exclusively by Smart Tools Laser Level apps to provide camera-guided leveling overlay. Camera feed is processed in real-time on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Accelerometer & Gyroscope

Used by all Apps to detect device orientation and provide accurate angle, slope, and level measurements. Sensor data is processed locally in real-time.

Magnetic Field Sensor

Used by Clinometer apps to provide compass functionality. Magnetic sensor readings are processed locally on your device.

08Children's Privacy

Our Apps are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
